High-Tech, Low-Cost Small Body Camera
The Partner EC1 Body Camera is the lower-cost cousin to the high-spec MK4 in The Partner’s 4th generation line of devices. This small body camera is capable of recording at 1296p at 30FPS, 32GB storage, capable of taking high-quality snapshots, an anti-tamper design, and a customisable watermark. While the MK4 is better suited for professional security companies, the EC1 is a great option for use as a civilian body camera or smaller security teams.
Fully Encrypted
The Partner EC1 Body Camera is capable of recording encrypted footage. If set, the device uses AES256 encryption which prevents unauthorised viewing of the footage as per GDPR. To de-encrypt the footage, you would use the decoder software that is supplied with the camera. While this feature is more relevant to security than civilian body camera users, there is always a chance that it could prevent spurious allegations even outside a professional setting.
Wide-Angle Lens
Despite being a small body camera, the Partner EC1 has an impressive 140° field of view. This means that it can be worn not only centrally but also to one side without sacrificing too much footage of want is happening on the other side.
Anti-Tamper Design
The Partner EC1 Body Camera has been specially designed to prevent third parties from tampering with the device. Unlike some cameras, the EC1 does not have removable batteries and sim cards. It is fully password protected and does not have an interface like a screen for others to use. In order to access the camera, one would need the Cam Manager software and the correct password. The device will not even be recognised as a device by a computer until it has been activated through the software. This makes the EC1 one of the securest devices on the market.
Night-Vision
The Partner EC1 Body Camera boasts impressive night-vision capabilities with a built-in infra-red lamp that allows you to record footage in the dark at a range of up to 15 meters. The IR lamp is automatic and the sensitivity can be set to your preferences. This makes the EC1 a great choice for civilian body camera users as if you are walking at night or out for a jog, you will still be able to capture footage. All footage recorded in IR will be in greyscale.
Long-Life Battery
The Partner EC1 Body Camera comes with a built-in 3200mAH Lithium-Polymer battery which enables it to record for long periods of time depending on the resolution. At 1080p it can record for ten hours straight, 11 hours at 720p, and 12 hours 480p. This is battery life, how much footage you can store depends on your selected bitrate and resolution.
Pre/Post Record Functionality
The Partner EC1 Body Camera can be set to be constantly taking information into its buffer without actually recording it. Once the record button has been hit, it will take that information from its buffer and add it to the footage. It can do this both before and after the record button is hit. This is called Pre-record and post-record. The EC1 can be set to 15 – 55 seconds Pre-record meaning that everything that happened during that time period before recording starts is added to the footage. It can also be set to have 10/20/30/60 seconds post-record meaning that anything during the period after recording is stopped. When used as a civilian body camera this would mean that if you are approached but forget to record until partway through the incident, you will still have the evidence recorded.
Detailed Watermark
The Partner EC1 Body Camera has a detailed watermark that includes Device ID, User ID, and date & time. The Device ID and User ID can be set manually so that you can watermark your company name or personal name onto the footage.
