On the bottom of The Partner Robust Recorder at the base of the device is a blue LED light. This light notifies the user of various changes in the status of the recorder using flashes of different frequencies and lengths. Examples of this include when tapping a point, when the recorder is full and when an error has occurred.

Originally designed for use as a guard tour monitoring system for the South African security industry, one of the core elements in its design is resilience.

The Partner Professional Robust Recorder is not rechargeable and instead utilises an ultra-long life battery that is hard-wired into the internal components. This battery lasts on average between 2 – 4 years depending on the frequency of use. Once depleted, it can be sent into Interconnective for replacement.
