The VestGuard Covert Ballistic Vest (NIJ IIIA) uses aramid fibre as the main element in its armour panels. Aramid Fibre is one of the most widely used materials in ballistic and NIJ body armour due to its unique properties. It has incredibly high tensile strength and is very difficult to cut and tear which protects the user. It also helps to spread the force of an attack over a wider area which reduces back face trauma.

The measure of how good covert armour is at being covert is how big of a footprint it leaves under your regular clothing. The VestGuard Covert Ballistic Vest (NIJ IIIA) was made to minimise this footprint, from its thin plates and cover down to its narrow, discreet shoulder and side straps. This NIJ body armour can be worn under a shirt with only a small amount of disruption to the flow of the upper fabric if adjusted correctly.

The VestGuard Covert Ballistic Vest (NIJ IIIA) is fully adjustable with velcro (hook and loop) latches on the shoulders and around the waist. They are not only thin and covert but strong enough to hold the armour in place while undertaking strenuous activity.

The VestGuard Covert Ballistic Vest (NIJ IIIA)’s carrier utilises a breathable mesh which helps reduce the temperature of the inside of the vest while in use. Known as CoolMax, this inner lining helps prevent the build-up of sweat and ambient moisture.
Carrier Icon Ultra-Light, Soft Carrier
This NIJ body armour’s cover is made from a blend of cotton and polyester. It is soft to the touch and comfortable against the skin while remaining rugged enough to be used in even the most demanding conditions.
