The Home Office has certified the PSS Black Stab Vest with Reflective Strips to a KR1 SP1 standard using the CAST 2017 testing methodology. This means that this lightweight body armour will protect you against slash, cut, spike and stab attacks as well as blunt force trauma. When choosing armour, it is essential that it is certified by an official licensing like the Home Office or the NIJ (US Standard but not as stringent as the UK standard) if you want to be secure in the knowledge that it will actually protect you.
Blunt Force Trauma Icon VPAM Rated
PPSS armour is unusual in that it is the only UK made armour to receive a VPAM rating. The VPAM Kinetic Force rating is issued by a German testing laboratory and looks specifically at how much back face trauma an armour protects against. While the UK standards do take this into account, they do not have a rating specifically for this. The PPSS Black Stab Vest with Reflective Strips is rated to VPAM W5 which means that it protects against up to 100 joules of force which is impressive for the lightest certified body armour available in the UK.

The PPSS Black Stab Vest with Reflective Strips consists of a high-quality Nylon carrier and two unyielding carbon fibre armour panels. The panels are rigid and do not bend which means that if you are struck, far less of the force is transferred to your body. This is particularly important with blunt force. It does however mean that you need to take special care in choosing the right sized armour for your body. The carrier is adjustable but you need to consult the armour size chart in the Downloads section to get the correct general size.

The PPSS Black Stab Vest with Reflective Strips’ carrier is made from tough, high-quality nylon, tightly woven to ensure maximum ruggedness. The carrier comes with a host of features including 2 KlickFast Docks, two workman’s pockets, hook & loop patches for badges,  adjustable shoulders and sides as well as an air circulation lining that keeps the body cool.
Reflective icon Reflective Strips
This lightweight body armour comes with reflective strips sewn into the carrier. This enables the user to be easily visible at night which makes it great for lone workers or those who may work near roads or in low-light environments.
