 | Certified to Home Office HG1 Standard The Fortis Overt Ballistic Vest is certified by the Home office to an HG1+KR1+SP1 level which means that it protects against handgun fire, knife and slash attacks as well as spike damage. The Home Office standard is one of the highest in the world and has steeper requirements than most other certifying bodies. In particular, the focus on blunt force makes it especially rigorous. |
 | Aramid Fibre Weave The Fortis Overt Ballistic Vest consists of a cover and armour panels. The panels are made by using 18 layers of kevlar body armour material (unbranded Aramid Fibre) which is globally recognised as the best textile for ballistic protection. Kevlar is also normally the most expensive material to use and while other companies try and mix it with cheaper fabrics to reduce cost, Fortis does not. |
 | Flexible Kevlar Body Armour The Fortis Overt Ballistic Vest is a kevlar body armour which means that it is uniquely flexible when compared with metal or carbon fibre vests. It bends with the user which enables a greater range of motion and makes it easy to sit down, bend and do manual tasks. |
 | Fully Adjustable Shoulders and Waist The Fortis Overt Ballistic Vest is fully adjustable and has hook and loop (velcro) straps on both shoulders and either side of the waist. While it is important to make sure you choose the right size for your shape, these straps give you some leeway if you gain or lose weight. The black body armour cover is made from tough Cordura and can be used in even the most challenging environments. |
 | Heat Reduction Lining While protection is the primary aim of all body armours, the Fortis Overt Ballistic Vest also takes comfort into mind. The inside of the vest has a fine cooling mesh across most of the back and the chest. This helps to lower the temperature in the armour and reduce the amount of sweat that is generated while it is in use. |
