Robust Certified Stab, Spike and Cut Protection
The Fortis Covert Stab Vest is certified by the Home Office to the KR1 SP1 level which means that it offers protection against knife and spike attacks. The Home Office standard is one of the most rigorous in the world and is considered to be safer than the American equivalent (NIJ). It is extremely important when selecting body armour that it has been tested and certified by a recognised body.

To this end, the Fortis Covert Stab Vest employs a lightweight polycotton carrier rather than the traditional cordura version that overt models use. It is much thinner, and softer on the skin as well as having much thinner straps.
Aramid_Fibre_Icon Proprietary Aramid Fibre Combination Panels
The Fortis Covert Stab Vest panels are a proprietary combination of aramid fibre, fine steel cord and nylon which is woven to maximise protection but minimise restriction on movement. Most manufacturers use soft-steel or carbon fibre in their stab vests for cost reasons. This covert body armour still uses aramid fibre in its combination in order to prevent easily detectable stiffness or the sound on bending metal that are drawbacks of other materials.
Flexible Bendable, Low Detection Armour
As stated above, the Fortis Covert Stab Vest is more pliable than harder armours. This particularly important for concealable body armour as stiffness and a lack of flexibility make it very apparent that the user is wearing a stab vest.

Like all Fortis covert body armour, this model is designed to keep you cool whilst wearing it. A fine heat reduction layer sits between the user’s body and the inner cover. This prevents the build-up of sweat and general heat while performing one’s duties.
