Robust Home Office HG1 + KR1 + SP1 Protection Level
The Fortis Armour – Home Office Certified Aramid Fibre Covert Ballistic Vest, often called bullet proof armour, is certified under the Home Office’s HOSDB 2003 standard for bullet, knife and spike resistant armour to a HG1 + KR1 + SP1 level. While nothing is 100% bullet proof, it does offer a high level of protection against handgun, slash and spike attacks which defends against most common offensive tools such as 9mm calibre guns, knives, screw drivers, glass and more. Unlike the US’ NIJ standard, the Home Office Standard puts a greater emphasis on back-face trauma which is the kinetic force and its’ effect on internal organs rather than just whether the bullet penetrates the armour.
Covert_Body_Armour_Icon Covert Body Protection
This vest is designed to be worn under one’s clothing and is one of the best concealable body armours on the market. It uses a tight cut with thinner straps to avoid detection and the outer cover is made from a soft yet tough, white polycotton. This means that it is less coarse and causes less irritation when worn against the skin that Cordura or nylon covers.
Aramid_Fibre_Icon Aramid Fibre Construction
The Fortis Armour – Home Office Certified Aramid Fibre Covert Ballistic Vest panels are constructed from 18 Layers of Aramid Fibre (more commonly known as Kevlar) with just one layer of other materials. Aramid Fibre is the most expensive material used in body armour due to its’ efficiency at protecting wearers. Many companies combine Aramid with other materials to reduce costs at the expense of protection. This armour does not do this and uses Aramid Fibre almost exclusively.
Flexible Flexible Soft Armour
The Fortis Armour – Home Office Certified Aramid Fibre Covert Ballistic Vest does not use plates or metal sheets. This means that it is far more flexible than commonly available hard-armours. By using flexible panels, this Armour does not restrict motion or greatly reduce mobility.
Adjustable_Body_Armour_Icon Adjustable Shoulders
The Fortis Armour – Home Office Certified Aramid Fibre Covert Ballistic Vest has hook and loop(Velcro)-secured adjustable shoulders and sides. This means that the armour can be made to fit as tightly or loosely as the wearer requires.
Cooling_Icon Internal Cooling Mesh
The Fortis Armour – Home Office Certified Aramid Fibre Covert Ballistic Vest has cooling mesh lining on the inside which helps keep the wearer cool in warm weather.
