Certified_Icon Home Office CAST 2017 KR1 SP1 Protection Level
The VestGuard Covert Stab Vest is certified to the HOSDB (Home Office Scientific Development Branch) CAST 2017 standard. It has been rated to the KR1 SP1 standard for protection against cut, slash and spike damage. This means that the Home Office has deemed this armour safe to be used by government bodies to protect its staff against the rated threats.
Soft Steel Construction Soft-Steel Sheet Combination
The VestGuard Covert Stab Vest is made using soft-steel sheets which makes this armour a sort of middle ground between the soft and flexible aramid models and the rigid, hard carbon fibre options. While it does still bend and conform with the body, it possesses a degree of rigidity absent from most soft armours. This has both advantages and disadvantages. It is more restrictive than soft armours but it does offer a higher degree of needle protection. It is also less expensive.
Covert_Body_Armour_Icon Discreet Body Armour
This discreet body armour is very low profile at 7-9mm thick and weighing in at only 2.1KGs (based on a large size). The cover has thin elasticated Velcro shoulder and waist straps so that the vest does not create lumps under a shirt or jacket and remains invisible.
Adjustable_Body_Armour_Icon Fully Adjustable Straps
The VestGuard Covert Stab Vest cover has 6 discreet elasticated straps, one for each shoulder and two on each side of the waist to give a secure and customised fit. This ensures the vest stays in place and remains comfortable.
Cooling_Icon Coolmax Ventilation Lining
The VestGuard Covert Stab Vest cover is lined with a Coolmax ventilation layer that helps reduce the build-up of heat when the armour is worn close to the body. This is particularly important for covert armours as they will generally have several layers of clothing over them.
Comfortable Polycotton Cover
In order to be a discreet body armour, it is worn as close to the body as possible to prevent detection which inevitably results in some skin to armour contact. Unlike overt vests which have Cordura covers, the VestGuard Covert Stab Vest uses a light polycotton which causes less irritation and is comfortable enough to be worn for extended periods.
