The Partner Portable Data Collector is housed in a stainless steel, waterproof and shock resistant tube with a protective polyurethane sheath to ensure performance in adverse and robust conditions. Internal electronics are potted in flame retardant resin and all internal sub assemblies are waterproof. Should physical abuse occur to The Partner Robust recorder the on board The Partner Abuse Detection System (PADS) will record the date, time and veracity of any impact. The shock sensor records the veracity of impact recording a high, medium or low impact. In cases where there are 15 impacts within an hour The Partner Robust Recorder shuts down and will only reactivate when the recorder is downloaded. On each impact the blue LED flashes and a sound is emitted. The possible location and user of the equipment at the time of any possible abuse can also be ascertained. The Partner Robust Recorder is capable of recording 4000 separate patrol events before requiring download. The Partner Robust Recorder is sealed at both ends with rivets and can only be legitimately opened by trained technicians. The Partner Robust Recorder is manufactured in an accredited ISO 9001: 2000 facility.

The Partner Portable Data Collector can be used to collect information from the partner robust recorders in the field. The Partner Portable Data Collector can collect up to 8 full recorders (32,000 records) in the field whilst also fulfilling its role as a normal patrol recorder. Once the data has been collected the collector can be downloaded as a normal recorder.
